Glareless, a browser extension

Glareless is a browser extension that protects your eyes by ensuring that the background color for text areas is not overly bright.

It works on the major browsers.

Installation

• Glareless for Firefox
• Glareless for Chrome (also works on Edge)
• Safari: get a release from the repo in tar.gz format, install locally.

Functionality

• Minimal modification of pages, just enough to avoid glare on text
• Pop-up control can turn functionality on or off in the active tab
• Settable threshold brightness for background colors
• Settable default background color to substitute bright backgrounds
